Walter Guttenfelder is a research physicist and leader of the transport and turbulence topical science group in the National Spherical Torus Experiment-Upgrade (NSTX-U) project. He has over 15 years of research experience in the area of plasma turbulence and transport, with a focus on validating direct numerical simulations and models with measurements. He has worked on and collaborated with numerous tokamak and stellarator experiments. He enjoys giving tours and outreach talks on fusion plasmas and is the current editor of the online U.S. Burning Plasma Organization eNews newsletter.
